What is PointCount?
An estimating and field platform for mechanical and HVAC-controls contractors. It turns a building's equipment into point counts and controller fit, then into takeoffs, bids and proposals, RFQs, purchase orders, invoices, change orders, time and payroll, scheduling, files, and messaging — one project, office to field.
Who is it for?
Mechanical and HVAC-controls contractors first. The same takeoff-to-bid backbone also runs adjacent trades (plumbing, HVAC, electrical) and a set of industries — hotel renovation, AV & home automation, property management, fire & security, concrete, drywall, and more — each in early access on its own native surface.
How does pricing work?
À la carte. There's an always-on core — bidding, takeoff, and exports. On top of that you switch on the trades and industries you run, plus platform tools (PM, files, time, messaging). Your first trade is at list price; every additional trade is just 25%. You pay only for seats and storage over the included allotment.
What does “private preview” mean, and how do I get access?
We're opening PointCount to a few design-partner shops at a time rather than a public launch. To request access, sign in and fill out the short form — tell us your shop and what you'd use it for, and we'll email you when your account is approved.
Where do your prices and specs come from?
Never invented. The equipment catalog is curated and every device is brand-endorsed and practitioner-signed. A line stays unpriced until a real supplier quote is applied or you enter a cost. If data is missing, we leave it missing and flag it — a wrong number is worse than a blank.
How is my data handled?
Every shop's data, money, and people are isolated — one organization can never read or write another's. Access is role-based: pay rates and payroll are visible to owner/admin (and, where set, estimator) only. Money is tracked to the cent end to end.
Do I have to learn a complicated new tool?
No. Start in the simple one-at-a-time view, with a short guided tour and an in-app help guide for every tool. Power users can switch on spatial Workspaces and keyboard-driven commands — but that's opt-in.
When does it fully launch?
